The forbidden land of Mustang stretches along the Kali Gandaki from Tibetan border south to Ghasa. By joining in Mustang trekking, you will discover the hidden Lo Manthang which is the jewel of Mustang. Trekking route for Mustang progresses through the historical salt trading route that was used by locals in bartering goods with the neighboring Tibetans. Topographically, Mustang is known as the Desert in the Mountains. Since Mustang is located in rain shadow region, it receives minimum rainfall which makes it the best Nepal trekking destination for rainy season. Locals adopt Buddhism as the chief religion. Influenced by the Tibetan culture, stone houses are common sight in Mustang. This restricted Area trekking demands a special trekking permit from Nepal Government. Mustang trekking route progresses along world’s deepest Kaligandaki Gorge. Explore the barren ridges, eroded cliffs, Moraine valleys and deep canyons and traverse the untouched wilderness. Get the view of wind swept Kali-Gandaki valley and visit Muktinath Temple.

Day01: Kathmandu Arrival (1300m)
After completing the visa and custom formalities, you will meet with our representative at Tribhuvan International Airport. You will be escorted through the busy street of Kathmandu to the three star hotel. After refreshment, you will be briefly informed about your 10days Mustang trekking package. Enjoy the sumptuous meal and have a pleasant stay.  

Day02: Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour
You will be picked up from the hotel and taken to our office where you will meet with your team members. You will be provided with Guided Kathmandu City Tour where you will be taken through the journey of UNESCO sites in Kathmandu. You will visit the holiest Hindu Temple of Pashupatinath, the largest Bouddhanath Stupa, the oldest Swayambhunath Stupa and the ancient Royal Residence of Kathmandu Durbar Square. 

Day03: Kathmandu- Pokhara Flight, Pokhara Tour
Fly high above clouds with captivating views of Annapurna and other Mountains. 25minutes of mesmerizing journey will take you to Pokhara Airport. Pokhara which is often regarded as City of Lakes is the second largest city of Nepal. It is popular for being the gateway to remote Mustang region. Explore around Pokhara. Enjoy boating in Phewa Lake and visit the Barahi temple that is located at the middle of lake. Prepare the baggage for trek and stay overnight at hotel.  

Day04: Pokhara- Jomsom (2800m) flight
Take an early morning flight from Pokhara to Jomsom. Jomsom can also be reached on foot from Pokhara but it consumes 7-8 days to cover the journey. The flight continues above world's deepest Kali Gandaki Gorge that lies in between Annapurna I (8,091m) and Dhaulagiri (8,167m) mountains. Stay overnight in a hotel in Jomsom.

Day05: Jomsom to Chele (3050m)
Assemble the crew, arrange for trekking gears and supplies and take 3 hours of trek to Kagbeni by walking alongside the Kaligandaki River. Kagbeni is the gateway to Upper Mustang. Enjoy the views of Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Dhampus, Tukuche and other mountains and move towards Kagbeni. Walk along the Chorten and follow uphill and downhill path to Tangbe village. Take lunch and cross the Chusang River. Cross the bridge on Kaligandaki and take short climb to Chele.

Day06: Chele to Geling (3520m)
Begin your walk along dry valley with views of red brick houses. Take brief ascend and pass along chortens to small Samar village. Climb up the ridge at 3800m for panoramic view. Walk along Ramchung Cave to Geling which greets you with colorful landscape and mountains.

Day07: Geling to Charang (3580m)
Leave Geling village early in the morning and walk through whitewashed local houses to Nyi Pass. Descend to the meadow. You can see cattle grazing in the lush green vegetation. Descend to Tangmar Chu River. Moving further, you will soon encounter with yet another small pass. Conquer the pass and descend to Charang Village where you will stay overnight.

Day08: Charang to Lo Manthang (3780m)
Visit the wish fulfilling Gyokar Gompa. Continue the trek to Drakmar. Visit the 1200yr old Gyokar Gompa. Leave Lo Gyekar Gompa and pursue the ascending trail to the ridge. Get the first view of the fortified Lo city. Descend to Lomanthang for overnight stay.

Day09: Lo Manthang Exploration
Lo-manthang is the capital of Mustang kingdom which is located at an elevation of 3,780m. This fortified town is believed to be more than 600 years old. The wall around the town is believed to protect the town and its dwellers from the evil spirits. Explore the mysterious capital of the lost Kingdom. Visit Royal Palace and Buddhist monasteries. You can take short tour to Namgyal Gompa that is 2 hours of walking distance far from Lo.

Day10: Lo Manthang to Ghami (3460m)
Walk through the pass marked by a cairn. Get the last view of Lomanthang. Conquer the small ridge at 4070m altitude. Visit Lo Gekar Gompa and enter Charang village. Climb the Lo La pass and reach Die village. Cross the river and chase the uphill path to Yara village before continuing the journey to Ghami.

Day11: Ghami to Samar (3450m)
Leave Ghami village and follow the tapered path to small river. Get the view of Nilgiri mountain and Tibetan style villages. Reach Geling. The path turns broader till Samar. Observe the unique local culture. Samar is a pretty small village with terraces and farms.

Day12: Samar to Kagbeni
Pass through small settlements at Chele and Chungsar to Samar. Lower down to Chuksang village from Samar. Continue the journey along the bank of Kaligandaki River that is famous for availability of ammonite (saligram) stones. Enjoy the views of apple orchards throughout the journey. Arrive at Kagbeni for overnight stay. Leave restricted area of Mustang from Kagbeni.

Day13: Kagbeni to Muktinath (3800m)
Take the ascending trail to Jhong Khola valley. Leave the main trail that exists below Khingar and climb from the Jhong Khola to Jharkot village (3500m). Reach Muktinath temple that holds prime position in both Hindu and Buddhist religion. 108 carved stone spouts and the Vishnu temple is definitely worth seeing. Visit Jwalamai temple and view the eternal flame.

Day14: Muktinath to Jomsom (2800m)
Take the descending trail to world’s deepest Kali Gandaki Gorge. Pass through Jharkot and Khingar villages to Jomsom. Enjoy the views of Nilgiri peak and stay overnight in Jomsom.

Day15: Jomsom – Pokhara Flight
It will be wise to take early morning flight. Weather is unpredictable at Jomsom. Take 25 minutes of mountain flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. This is a free day. You can take Pokhara tour and visit Old Bazaar. Seti Gorge, Davis Fall, Gupteswor Cave and International Mountaineering Museum are other sites worth visiting. 

Day16: Pokhara to Kathmandu
You can either take 25minutes of Pokhara to Kathmandu flight or you can drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu. If you want to choose the land transportation, you need to follow Prithvi Highway. The route is scenic with views of Trishuli and Marsyangdi Rivers, wish- fulfilling Mankamana Temple and hills and terraces. 

Day17: Departure
You will be escorted to Tribhuvan International Airport 3hrs before your departure time. We wish to see you again. Safe journey.
